The first event was such a hit Sky Room has asked us back AND asked us if we want regular Fridays there! Let's see how this one goes first but at least there is finally that option for us! Yayness to the gayness!
Please read the important info I have placed below for this event!
Sky Room, which boasts 360 degree views of Manhattan and the Hudson River from the city's highest rooftop lounge, takes New York City nightlife to the next level. Occupying the 33rd and 34th Floor of the newly constructed Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Times Square, the bi-level ultra lounge transports guests to a high energy oasis atop 40th Street and offers five distinct spaces: the Times Square Lounge, the Cube balcony, the Private Salon, the North terrace with its retractable roof, and the South Terrace with its private cabanas.
The rooftop will be closed because of the chilly weather, but the views will still be amazing!
We will have an area allocated just for our group. And if our group reaches 80 attendees, I'll get complimentary drink tickets to hand out so come find me for one.
Important Info:
There IS a dress code! Please don't show up in ripped up jeans, ball caps, wife beaters, sneakers, etc. You'll be turned away and there's not much I can do about it.
Also, be prepared to pay a mandatory $3 to check your coat. CASH ONLY.
Lastly, Sky Room isn't closing their entire venue just for us. The public will be there (this includes men). We'll have our separate area downstairs by the fireplace dedicated only for us but outside of that area/and upstairs is open to anyone so be prepared to see men and straight women there (this seemed to have been a point of complaint last event). You are free to come and go as you wish since the DJ is upstairs ... just know the area reserved for US ONLY is downstairs by the fireplace. See ya there. Woo hoooooooo!

Please spread the word and support this event so we can get some regular Friday night lesbian events going!
Also, don't forge to follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Different-Kind-of-Ladies-Night/206754069353773
and target demographic has changed I and others would like know so we can make plans accordingly. Afterall, there are hundreds of meetup groups whose focus isn't sexual orientation that we could have joined if "community" wasn't important to us.
The email also said this: "Both of the above can turn into regular events FOR LESBIAN WOMEN if attendance and interest stays high so please RSVP and check them out. "
This meetup group has always been and will always be for lesbian women. It says so right in the info. NYC's largest LESBIAN meetup group.
However, if a member wanted to bring their straight girlfriend to an event ... as I've done so myself ... I'd never turn them away. All are welcome. All will always be welcome.
NYC is 21 and over, luv, to go out to bars, clubs and lounges. She won't be let in. They ask for ID
Jeanette, she won't be able to get in. 21+ at Skyroom and they will check ID. No cover before 11:00. :)
ADKLN passed the 1900 member mark this week. Thank you!!! Let's celebrate Friday!!!
There's no cover before 11pm , if I bring a guy who is also part of the lgbt community does he have to pay cover ? Just want to make sure
I think he's fine. No cover for anyone who says they are here for me or a Different Kind of Ladies Night. :)
"Tell your friends, your pals, your Moms, your sisters, your cats ... any female you think might want to check it out! ;)"
When i originally joined meetup.com it was and still is to build and connect with the lesbian community in NYC. So i did a search using lesbian as the critirea to target groups that would help me do this. I started attending events with this group because it list itself as a lesbian group, but this invitation appears to be inviting anybody??
If this groups purpose ........
